Scott County Fire Department prepares for the everyday call and the extraordinary event, working with public-safety partners across Georgetown and Scott County, Kentucky, to protect life, property, and the community.
Emergency medical response
Every SCFD member is a certified Emergency Medical Technician. We respond alongside Georgetown-Scott County EMS to life-threatening medical emergencies, complete a thorough initial assessment, and provide immediate life-saving care.
Technical rescue
Specialized swift-water, rope, trench, confined-space, building-collapse, and large-animal rescue capabilities.
Hazardous materials response
Hazard identification, isolation, protective actions, and coordination with regional partners during chemical and hazardous-material emergencies.
Fire prevention & inspections
Practical inspections, code guidance, and safety resources that help stop emergencies before they happen.

Kentucky fall fire hazard season begins October 1
Through December 15, daytime burning is restricted from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. when burning within 150 feet of woodland or brushland. Review the rules and check for active county burn bans before every burn.
