Revel Oliver appointed Assistant Chief.

Assistant Chief Oliver brings more than 30 years of fire-service experience to SCFD’s executive leadership team. He began serving at age 16 as a volunteer with the Stamping Ground Fire Department and has since served with departments in Franklin County, Georgetown, and Scott County in volunteer, career, and leadership roles.

Oliver retired from the Georgetown Fire Department as a battalion chief in 2022 before returning to the fire service with Scott County Fire Department.

Before his appointment as Assistant Chief, Oliver served as SCFD’s Battalion Chief of Training. Since 2023, he has overseen three recruit classes responsible for preparing 23 new firefighters, along with continuing training for department personnel.

In his new role, Oliver will support the Fire Chief and department-wide leadership, oversee SCFD’s technical rescue committees, and help coordinate the administrative and operational work necessary to keep the department prepared to serve Scott County.
