Assistant Chief Justin Baker retires after more than two decades of service.

Assistant Chief Baker began his fire service career in 2001 with the Toyota Fire Department before joining Franklin County Fire Department in 2002. He came to Scott County Fire Department in 2004 and spent the next 22 years serving the department and the Scott County community.

Throughout his career at SCFD, he advanced through the ranks and earned the respect of those around him through his experience, leadership, work ethic, and commitment to the fire service. He was promoted to Assistant Chief in 2023.

In that role, he helped redevelop department-wide standard operating procedures, provided guidance on new apparatus, and helped shape and develop the next generation of Scott County firefighters.

His impact reaches far beyond rank or years of service. It can be seen in the firefighters he mentored, the decisions he helped guide, and the department he helped move forward.

Justin, thank you for your service, your leadership, and the many ways you made Scott County Fire Department better. We hope retirement brings you plenty of time to enjoy your family, your business, and whatever comes next.
