Battalion ChiefJeremy Barnett

Battalion Chief Jeremy Barnett joined the Scott County Fire Department in 2018, bringing with him a background in spirituality and philosophy. He spent much of his early fire-service career assigned to Engine 8 and Rescue 1 before being promoted to Lieutenant in 2022, Captain in 2024, and Battalion Chief in 2025. Jeremy finds meaning in serving others during their time of need and values the strong relationships formed among members of the fire service. During his career with SCFD, he has been especially proud of the department’s commitment to strengthening its organizational culture, his contributions to its leadership-development process, and his involvement in training new generations of firefighters through recruit instruction. Jeremy lives in southern Jessamine County with his wife, Allie, and their three sons. Outside the firehouse, he enjoys reading, hiking and camping with his family, and studying the philosophy of Stoicism.
